Coach Alex Gutierrez is a Sacramento native who played his youth soccer in north sacramento including high school and American River College.  Coach Gutierrez recently graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Kineseology.  He also holds a NSCAA National Adv. Coaching Certificate and is planning to continue his education in Sports Management.  His coaching experience includes over 9 years of youth recreational soccer and junior high level soccer.  He served as Natomas High School Girls Varsity assistant before taking starting up the JV boys program at Grant High School.  His first season in 2009 was a success with JV by earning second place in the Metro League.  His second season the team continued to strive as he finished second again but in the Delta Valley Conference.  Since then he has coached Varsity the past two seasons with a combined record of 34-6-6.  His varsity team earned a second position in the Delta Valley Conference and last season they finished as Conference Champions.  Varsity has averaged only 3 losses in the last two seasons including two playoff loses.  Grant High School was ranked at number 5 to begin the 2012 season and finished ranked as high as 3rd in the section.  Coach Gutierrez promises the 2013 season to be filled with excitement and beautiful play like the Pacer Pride fans have been accustomed to.

Congratulations

This year the boys soccer team did an outstanding job, undeafeated in season and won league champions. They won their first playoff game against Del Campo, but sadly were tooken out by Folsom in the second round. The Grant Pacer soccer team continues to keep thriving for excellence and hopes to go farther in seasons to come. GO PACERS!!
